Greetings Brethren:

It has been a very exciting year thus far. Brother Bill Dunn and Brother Mitch Butler have both worked very hard and we are very proud of them. Brother Bill Dunn has been raised a Master Mason and has finished working on his Masters Proficiency. Brother Mitch Butler has been raised to Master Mason and has also finished his Masters Proficiency.

Our last three Past Masters and myself had chosen Brother Jim Simmons to receive the Golden Trial Award from Kingsland Lodge. The committee had felt very strongly about this as did I. Brother Simmons has is deserving of this award. He is a very good man and I am proud to know him.

After our District Deputies presentation on Masonic tradition it has caused me to reflect back on the beautiful teachings of Free Masonry taught to me by my father. He conferred all three of my degrees and taught me all of my memory work. There is no honor in Masonry that could ever be bestowed upon me that will ever compare to that. It means more to me every day. What a beautiful journey that was to take together. Over the course of my life we have taken countless journeys together but that one was my favorite. We worked very hard on practice nights at Kingsland lodge and have gained a reputation for being very proficient. It has caused me to cherish every degree I have ever worked in.

I would like to take this opportunity urge all of our newer Masons and all members of Kingsland Lodge to try and attend our practices. It is imperative for the survival of our ancient and honorable fraternity that the memory and floor work be learned. I would also like to urge all members of Kingsland lodge to make a special attempt to be present at our candidates degrees and proficiencies.

It is so much more impressive for the candidates to see a lodge room full of Brothers when they are brought to light. It is a very memorable evening in there lives one in which they will never forget. you being there in support of them will also never be forgotten.

If anyone is not getting the emails or phone calls informing them of the degrees and proficiencies please let me know. If someone needs transportation I will be happy to pick you up or see that you have a ride to Lodge.

If there is anything that I can do for any of you or your families you can call me at anytime

Fraternally Yours,

Michael Todd Boyd
